Motors can be divided into protection levels. The motor with different equipment and different use place, will be equipped with different protection levels.
So what is the protection level?
The motor protection grade adopts the IPXX grade standard recommended by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Different installation places have different grades. The IP protection rating system is drafted by IEC, and the motors are classified according to their dust-proof and moisture-proof characteristics. The IP protection level is composed of two numbers. The first one represents the degree of protection of the motor from dust and foreign objects. The second number represents the degree of airtightness of the motor against moisture and water immersion. The larger the number, the higher the level of protection. The dustproof grade is divided into 7 grades, which are represented by 0-6 respectively; the waterproof grade is divided into 9 grades, which are represented by 0-8 respectively.
Dustproof level:
0—No protection, no special protection to people or things outside.
1—It can prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 50mm from entering the case, and can prevent large areas of the human body (such as hands) from accidentally touching the live or moving parts of the case, but cannot prevent conscious access to these parts.
2—It can prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 12.5mm from entering the casing, and can prevent fingers from touching the live or moving parts of the casing.
3—It can prevent the intrusion of solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 2.5mm, and prevent tools, wires and similar small foreign objects with a diameter or thickness greater than 2.5mm from intruding and contacting the internal parts of the appliance.
4—It can prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 1mm from entering the cabinet, and prevent tools, wires and similar small foreign objects with a diameter or thickness greater than 1mm from intruding and contacting the internal parts of the appliance.
5—It can prevent foreign objects and dust, and can completely prevent the intrusion of foreign objects. Although the intrusion of dust cannot be completely prevented, the amount of dust intrusion will not affect the normal operation of the electrical appliance.
6—It can completely prevent the intrusion of foreign objects and dust.
waterproof level:
0—No protection, no special protection against water or humidity.
1—It can prevent water droplets from immersing, and the water droplets falling vertically (such as condensed water) will not cause damage to the motor.
2—When tilted at 15 degrees, it can prevent water droplets from entering, and the water droplets will not cause damage to the motor.
3—It can prevent the sprayed water from immersing, rainproof or prevent the water sprayed in the direction with an angle of less than 60 degrees from the vertical from entering the motor and causing damage.
4—It can prevent splashing water from immersing, and can prevent splashing water from all directions from entering the motor and causing damage.
5—It can prevent the sprayed water from immersing, and can prevent the low-pressure water spray that lasts at least 3 minutes.
6—It can prevent large waves from being immersed, and can prevent a large amount of water spraying for at least 3 minutes.
7—It can prevent the immersion of water when immersed, and prevent the impact of immersion for 30 minutes in the water of 1 meter deep.
8—Prevent water immersion during sinking, and prevent continuous immersion in water with a depth of more than 1 meter.
